I finally got the AA skirt and I love it! I do feel ladylike, and I got size L so it’s not too tight and I don’t feel like a ho. Definitely wearing it to work. Here’s an attempt to document the outfit while keeping my gross morning face out of the shot…

But it needs a belt, and this is where I get into trouble. First off, the skirt is grey. I always think grey belongs with only black or tan as a neutral, and not brown or navy. I bought some nice belts today and I’m not sure they can go, or if they go, what shirt I wear. Here are the belts:

I try to keep my outfits simple to avoid confusion on my part – one neutral, one color or print, black can go anywhere. So… can I pair these belts with a grey skirt? And then what color top and shoes? Help please.

while gray + brown is a little iffy, I am actually a strong supporter of gray + navy [gravy!! HA.] Rahel wore her skirt the other day with a maroon top and it was cute. You should do that. The best thing about this skirt is that it looks adorbs with a plain t-shirt and dresses it up, too.

first of all, you say “belt” so many times in this post it made me lol.

second, you sound so crazy – i totally love it.

third, do you need a belt because the skirt is too big or because you feel like it’s too plain without one?

i think you can totally wear a brown belt with it, but the ones you showed look much more like waist belts rather then belts that actually go in belt loops.

i’m not being helpful here. sorry. answer these questions and then i’ll get back to you.

also, do i spy whale necklace or twig necklace?

You do indeed spy a twig necklace, jessie.

The greenish belt does go into belt loops, the navy/brown one does not. I guess I feel I need a belt because for some reason, unused belt loops make me sad. Why make a skirt with belt loops if they aren’t used? And if they can’t be used as they were intended, then I want to hide them with a big ol’ stretchy belt.
